After months of planning, Music PEI is leading a music trade mission, along with the other three Atlantic Canadian Music Industry Associations (ACMIA), to the UK to attend the premier roots music conference, Association of Festival Organizers (AFO) in Nottingham, UK. Over 100 festivals from across the UK attend this three day conference which takes place November 16 – 18.

Each ACMIA will be bringing two artists from their membership to showcase at AFO. Representing Music PEI will be Dennis Ellsworth and Gordie MacKeeman and His Rhythm Boys. A call for Submissions was made and the applicants were reviewed and selected by a panel of jurors.

Each artist will have a 20 minute showcase for conference delegates which include not only festival programmers but also other music industry professionals such as agents, managers, promoters and venue programmers attend and represent many business opportunities to build careers for the artists.

Music PEI has arranged a second showcase opportunity for the ACMIA artists to take place directly following the AFO conference. The one day showcase in London Monday, November 19 will be presented at the storied Cecil Sharp House in partnership with the English Folk Dance and Song Society. This showcase will focus on London based venues and music industry professionals.
