The PEI Arts Grants program offers three types of grants to support the professional artists of Prince Edward Island:
- Create (assist with the research, development, creation and production of artistic projects by professional PEI artists).
- Share (assist with the presentation of works by professional PEI artists to the public).
- Learn (support PEI artists’ participation in mentorships, apprenticeships, internships, residencies, specialized short-term training programs, portfolio and support material development, workshops, seminars, conferences or other significant events).

The Canadian Starmaker Fund provides touring and promotional support to Canadian artists, as well as seed funding to artists from diverse cultural backgrounds through the Orion program. It runs 2-3 rounds per year, so be sure to check their website for information on eligibility and deadlines.

SOCAN issues licenses for the public playing, performance, communication, and reproduction of music. The money collected from these licenses is distributed as royalties to the rights holders who have earned them in Canada and worldwide. SOCAN now offers both performing and reproduction rights.
CMRRA collects and distributes royalties–reproduction rights–for music publishers and self-published songwriters.
ACTRA RACS (Recording Artists’ Collecting Society) is a not-for-profit performer collective dedicated to ensuring that all recording artists—from session musicians and background performers to featured vocalists—are fairly compensated for their work. In addition, ACTRA RACS advocates on behalf of performers to support their rights; they run multiple initiatives, including the petition for DSPs to pay artists fairly for their streams (“Burst Their Bubble”). They collect and distribute royalties for performers, session musicians, background performers, featured vocalists, etc.
Panorama ensures independent music labels and rights owners receive their fair share by collecting and distributing royalties from radio stations, background music services, webcasting platforms, and television broadcasters. Panorama is an authorized agent to issue the unique prefix to create ISRCs (International Standard Recording Code). The ISRC is a unique identifier for a sound recording or music video and is essential for marketing and reporting to rights management organizations.
As a collective licensing agency, CONNECT acts as a non-exclusive agent on behalf of its members to administer licences for the reproduction of their sound recordings and music videos used commercially in Canada. CONNECT is also an administrator of ISRCs.
