Sustainable Careers Through Songwriting
Music PEI will present the 2023 Canadian Song Conference online between May 29th and June 2nd. This will be the 9th annual edition of this conference which explores creating multiple revenue streams and songwriting. In today’s music industry, it is challenging to develop a sustainable career and creating as many revenue streams as possible is critical to achieving that. Those revenue streams include licensing, royalties, publishing, streaming, syncs, label deals, and merch sales. The CSC attempts to take some of the mystery out of these opportunities.
In addition to the panels, Music PEI has created the Listening Sessions , opportunities for PEI artists to present their recorded music to the delegates in a business development opportunity.
Delegates recruited for the event include music supervisors, publishers, labels, PRO’s, social platforms and more.
You can check out last year’s programming here: 2022 Conference Schedule.
Canadian Songwriter Challenge
Another component of the CSC is the Canadian Songwriter Challenge. Music PEI has partnered with provincial music industry associations from across the country to bring songwriters together to co-write with PEI songwriters. This unique opportunity pairs the 2 songwriters in each group with a producer. For more information go to Canadian Songwriter Challenge.
Thanks to the music industry associations who partnered with us in 2022 for the Canadian Songwriter Challenge: Music/Musique NB, Manitoba Music, Music Nova Scotia, Music NL, Manitoba Music, Music Yukon, and Music NWT.
