Music PEI Employment Opportunity

Music PEI is now hiring two people to assist in the delivery of Showcase PEI and Music PEI Week. Successful applicants will be involved in assisting to deliver these 2 major projects.

Showcase PEI (September 2021)
Showcase PEI presents an opportunity for Island musicians to showcase their music to over 50 industry delegates with a focus on booking live performances, festivals and tours. Over 500 domestic and international delegates have attended Showcase PEI including many types of music industry professionals from more than a dozen different countries around the globe.

The 2021 version of Showcase PEI is currently being planned as a hybrid version of in-person and online programming.

Some examples of duties may include:
Assist with artist recruitment
Assist with outreach to potential delegates
Assist with creating program guide & schedule
Scheduling flights and hotels for delegates
Recruit production/film team for online presentations
Schedule meals and transportation
Coordinate venues

Music PEI Week (March 2022)
Music PEI Week is the annual celebration of the Island music industry. The five-day festival recognizes the remarkable achievements of our local artists and professionals with shows featuring many of the Music PEI Award nominees and special guests.

Some examples of duties may include:
Assist with outreach to potential applicants for awards
Revise sponsor deck presentation
Assist with identifying potential sponsors
Assemble jurors for award adjudication
Coordinate award manufacturing
Assist development and implementation of Marketing Plan

These two positions will also assist with additional administrative duties in the Music PEI office as required.

The activities will take place at Music PEI’s office at 115 Richmond Street,
Charlottetown on the third floor of The Guild.

Details
This project is funded by Skills PEI and the Work Experience PEI Program. In order to be eligible, applicants must be:
• A Canadian resident
• Currently unemployed
• Currently receiving EI, or EI eligible or had an open EI claim in the previous 36 months

An ideal candidate would have some post-secondary education and a connection to the music industry. This experience would help enhance knowledge of the music industry, event organizing, working for a non-profit and create excellent connections and network opportunities within the music industry.

Music PEI is the non-profit music industry association for the province with a mandate to assist artists and industry professionals to develop careers in the music industry.

Start Date: July 26th, 2021
End Date: January 14th, 2022
Duration: 25 weeks
Pay: $595.00/week
