Golden Ticket Single Release featuring Little Cities
Music PEI, through the Golden Ticket Program, is proud to announce the new single ‘Can I Come Over?’ release from PEI pop-rock band Little Cities.
Little Cities released their debut EP Friends Floors September 2018 – earning them 5 Music PEI Award nominations. Since then they have been playing shows around the East Coast and making connections all around the world, and pushing pen to paper as they gear up to release there sophomore EP! Wearing their influences on their sleeves, Little Cities writes infectious, hooky pop songs styled to the artists they admire.
Little Cities, with the assistance of the Golden Ticket Program, worked with multi Grammy-nominated and multi JUNO award winner Producer Gavin Brown (Billy Talent, Metric, Three Days Grace, The Tragically Hip, Barenaked Ladies) and recorded at The Hill Sound Studio + Film PEI Studio in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.
“Can I Come Over?” is actually the very first song we ever wrote as a band.
We always loved to play it live but never felt 100% satisfied.
When we found out that our friend, producer Gavin Brown would be flying to our hometown to write and record a single with us, we presented him with a pile of demos and ideas. He loved the melodies and energetic vibe of what was then a demo called “Sober” so we deconstructed it and re-wrote the track together and recorded it over a weekend this past fall. The whole experience was very surreal. Gavin’s production resume is what we grew up listening to, still listen to, and have been inspired by.
We hope this song makes you feel happy, fun, and cute – the same way you feel when you finally get to hold hands with your best friend and show them off to the world!”
