Showcase Bootcamp

On Monday, April 17, 2017, Music PEI will host a Showcase Bootcamp at Florence Simmons Performance Hall, 140 Weymouth Street, Charlottetown. This interactive event will run from 5:00-8:00pm and will feature three individual components to help prepare musicians and music industry professionals to prepare for upcoming conference and networking events like East Coast Music Week and the May Run Music Festival, and future events such as Showcase PEI.

From 5-6pm, Hannah Bell and Teresa Doyle will lead a discussion on building networking skills. These skills are essential in knowing how to “work a room”, make those vital in-person connections and make the most of your time at festival and conference networking events.

From 6-7pm, Rob Oakie will lead a discussion on building successful elevator pitches and how to approach one-on-one meetings and make a great first impression. Learn how to make the most of your 5 or 10 minutes of facetime during these important business development opportunities.

From 7-8pm, John MacPhee (of Paper Lions) will lead an interactive session on how to build a polished and professional showcase that will wow delegates. You only get 20 minutes so it’s crucial to make the most of it.

This is an extremely important opportunity that both established and new artists should take advantage of.

The Showcase Bootcamp is complimentary for Music PEI members and students of the Holland College School of Performing Arts. There will be a $15 fee for non-members and non-SOPA students. Music PEI asks that you register in advance by visiting HERE.
