Since its inception in 2007 Music PEI’s membership fees have remained the same while continuing to offer more programs and opportunities for members each year.

Music PEI offers musicians close to $100,000.00 per year in funding grants with two annual deadlines. Grants cover most music industry activities developed to help career growth within the music industry.

Music PEI presents a world class yearly buyers program, Showcase PEI, which brings music buyers from around the world to PEI each fall for private showcases. Showcase PEI has created over $750,000 in work for Music PEI members since 2008. It has received international accolades from industry professionals and received an award at the Great Escape (one of the world’s largest music conferences held in England) for Delegate Tour of the Year.

Music PEI Week is a festival and conference each January which includes an awards gala, a conference with first-class educational opportunities and performance opportunities. Additional showcasing opportunities are created each year at international conferences including ECMA, Folk Alliance International, Canadian Music Week, Association of Festival Organizers etc.

In addition Music PEI distributes leads for performance opportunities through our newsletters to current members as well as offering performance opportunities through partnerships with Old Home Week, Always on Stage and others.

Music PEI members also receive member discounts and/or offers to a variety of local businesses including Vogue Optical, Hunter’s Ale House, Globe World Flavours, Back Alley Music, Timothy’s World Coffee, and more. For a full list please click HERE.

Music PEI has become the voice of the music industry for the province and has a seat at the table of national organisations including the National Advisory Board to FACTOR and the Canadian Council of Music Industry Associations.

Costs have been increasing while many funding partners have been reducing their contributions. As a result Music PEI finds it necessary to increase our annual membership fees and in the future will be charging affordable user fees for participation in selected events or application processes.

Starting on May 1 the new rates will be:

Student $15 (no change)
Music Lover $20 (no change)
Artist $30
Band $60
Corporate $75

Membership fees are now subject to 14% HST.

You can renew your membership before the rates go up. You can renew online here – http://www.musicpei.com/lounge/login.php. To become a member, please visit – http://www.musicpei.com/become/.
