Save the Date: Music PEI AGM on Tuesday, August 13th, 2024 at 7 PM

The Music PEI Annual General Meeting is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, August 13th, 2024 at 7:00 PM AT. The meeting will be hosted on Zoom and will include the presentation of the Year-End Statement for the fiscal year 2023/24, the announcement of new Directors, and a report on the previous year’s activities from the Executive Director.

Call for Board of Directors Members

Music PEI is seeking new members for its Board of Directors! The Music PEI Board is a governance board (not an operational board) and meets once a month. These Board positions are 3-year terms.

The Music PEI mandate is to assist artists and music industry professionals in developing sustainable careers. This is accomplished through a strategic series of programs and funding investments. The Board of Directors is responsible for developing policies and overseeing the organization.

Music PEI is seeking board members with the following skill sets and experience: human resources, finance and venue experience. Previous board experience and knowledge of the music industry is also an asset. If you possess any of the listed experience or believe your skills, knowledge, and lived experience can contribute to the continued growth of Music PEI, please complete the submission form by June 30th, 2024, at 5:00 PM AT. We strongly encourage members of historically excluded communities to apply. 

Music PEI members are encouraged to nominate anyone who, in their opinion, would be a good candidate for the Music PEI board of directors. We also invite anyone interested in being nominated to declare their interest by submitting a completed nomination form available here.

Nominations open June 6th, 2024 and close June 30th, 2024 at 11:59 PM AST.  

In each case, contact will be made with each nominee to ensure permission of the nominee and to complete the nomination process.  

To be eligible for consideration, a candidate must meet the following qualifications:

• Be a Music PEI Member in good standing (you may sign up and then be nominated) – https://www.musicpei.com/membership/ 
• Believe in the mission, vision, and work of the Association
• Comprehend and accept the fiduciary duties and responsibilities associated with the actions of the Association 
• Understand the job of a board member 
• Be familiar with the Society’s bylaws & strategic plan

Before June 30th, 2024 the candidate must deliver to the Nomination Committee:

• A completed web form available here (including a 200-word bio and photo for the ballot)

Voting Information

Voting by current paid members will commence on Tuesday, July 16th and close on Tuesday, July 30th. Elected Directors will serve 3-year terms. The Board meets once per month on Zoom for regular meetings, and Board members are expected to volunteer for various committees.

Voting instructions can be found by logging into your Music PEI account starting July 16th.
