New Employment Opportunities: Canadian Folk Music Awards 2020

The CFMA began in 2005 awarding excellence in the Canadian folk music community. Each year the event moves to a new location and in 2020 it will take place in Charlottetown. The event will include 2 concert/award shows held at the Delta Hotel/Convention Centre along with potential school shows and showcases.

There are 2 positions and opportunities open to successful candidates. The length of the term of employment will be from November 25th, 2019 to April 25th, 2020. To be eligible applicants must meet the Work Experience PEI requirements which include:
– Currently Unemployed
– Currently on EI or EI eligible or had an EI claim in the past 36 months

This will be an excellent opportunity for anyone currently in or considering becoming part of the music industry as it will include networking with Canada’s music industry professionals. The 2 positions are:

Marketing, Sponsor and Volunteer Coordinator
Responsible to work with and deliver the local Marketing Plan
… Coordinating graphic designs
… Ad purchasing
… Social media management
Ensure that sponsors receive all the benefits as promised in contracts
… Coordinating collection of sponsor logos
… Placement of logos and name on branding
… Insuring allotment of comp event tickets
Manage volunteers at events
… Recruitment of volunteers
… Tickets
… Merch

Delegate, Artist and Production Coordinator
Delegate Coordination
… Work with Executive Director to recruit delegates
… Arrange delegate travel
… Collect delegate data
… Arrange one on one meetings
Artist Coordination
… Collect Artist information for the marketing team
… Coordinate artist showcases, sound checks etc.
… Insure artists receive ticket allotment
Production
… Arrange sourcing backline
… Coordinate soundcheck schedules
… Assist Production team
Coordinate school shows

Each position will report to the Music PEI Executive Director and the CFMA Project Director. The location of work will be the Music PEI offices in Charlottetown.
