2017 Music PEI Showcasing Opportunities
Submissions now open

English Folk Expo
Music PEI has an exciting new showcase opportunity in England for exporting and export ready artists. English Folk Expo has selected PEI as the international partner for their 2017 showcase event which takes place October 19th to the 21st in Manchester England.

Now in its 5th year, English Folk Expo attracts more than 175 important music industry professionals from England, the UK, Europe and across the world. English Folk Expo is held in tandem with the new Manchester Folk Festival.

Music PEI will be showcasing 3 PEI artists. Selected artists will have 2 performances, one during the festival also attended by EFEx delegates which will include a small performance fee, and the second performance will take place during Music PEI’s private delegate reception.

Those artists who are selected will be responsible for providing their own travel and accommodation to attend. The festival will provide one night’s accommodation the day of the artist’s festival performance.

Submissions will be open until March 13, 2017. The final artist selection will be made by the Manchester Folk Festival artistic director David Agnew by March 31st. Submissions have been extended until Wednesday, March 15th

This is an excellent opportunity for folk and roots artists to develop new performance opportunities in the England and beyond.

M for Montreal
In November, Music PEI will present a Stage Takeover at M for Montreal. This annual music conference brings delegates together from around the world to Montreal for a 4 day event featuring panels, workshops, business meetings, networking sessions and showcases.

Since 2006, M for Montreal has grown to one of the premier business development music conferences in Canada. The focus is split between creating live performance opportunities and creating multiple revenue streams through licensing, royalties and publishing. In 2016 over 200 music industry professionals and 100 artists came together and got business done. A list of 2016 delegates can be found here.

Music PEI will host a stage on the Friday night during the 2017 event which takes place from November 15 to 18. Up to 4 PEI artists will be presented on the Music PEI stage. This event is targeted primarily at pop, rock, EDM and indie artists.

Successful artists will be required to provide their own travel and accommodations to attend the event.

Submissions have been extended until Wednesday, March 15th

Showcase PEI 2017
A ten year anniversary deserves something special and this year Showcase PEI will play host to the European Forum of Worldwide Music Festivals (EFWMF). This organisation, with close to 40 members, is a unique blend of all types and sizes of festivals, mostly based in Europe. Each year they have an annual meeting in September and this year have selected PEI as their destination which represents the first time in Canada.

Aside from the EFWMF, Music PEI will also continue the focus on Europe and recruit agents as well as a good representation of Canadian delegates. Showcase PEI continues to concentrate on creating live performance opportunities. This will represent the largest group of delegates for Showcase PEI to date. The dates for Showcase PEI will be September 18 to 21, 2017.

Submissions have been extended until Wednesday, March 15th
