Music PEI Announces Nominees for Credit Union Music PEI Week 2014 Awards Nomination press conference and party was held on December 12th, 2013.

The nominees for the 13th Annual Music PEI Awards were announced at the nomination press conference Thursday afternoon, December 12th at the PEI Brewing Company in Charlottetown. The press conference included a rundown of the nominees in all award categories including music industry awards.

“The list of nominees for the Music PEI Awards once again demonstrates not only the diversity but also the high calibre of music being created here on PEI” said Tourism and Culture Minister Robert Henderson who also took part in the announcements.

The awards will be handed out at various events throughout Credit Union Music PEI Week 2014, capped off with the 13th Annual Music PEI Awards Gala presented by Ticketpro on February 1st.

Major sponsors for this event include the Credit Unions of PEI, PEI Brewing Company, Cavendish Beach Music Festival, Confederation Court Mall, Ticket Pro, Community One and ECMW 2014.

Music PEI, founded in 2001 as the Prince Edward Island Music Awards Association, is a non-profit member services organization devoted to advancing careers of Island musicians. Music PEI is actively seeking ways to promote, foster and develop artists and the music industry on PEI. The Association acts as an advocate for the Island music industry and a representative at the national table.

Music PEI programs and activities are made possible through the ongoing support of the provincial departments of Tourism and Culture and Innovation and Advanced Learning as well as ACOA and FACTOR.
