Nudie’s House of Rock

Earlier this year, an Island got rocked! Nudie’s House of Rock, in partnership with CBC, was a brand new signature event that took place during Metro Credit Union Music PEI Week, January 25 to February 2, 2013.

The sold out show featured a mixture of both established and emerging musical artists from Prince Edward Island and was hosted by local legend and singer songwriter Nudie.

Inspired by Later with Jools Holland, a contemporary BBC music television show, the live music show featured two bands on stage simultaneously, trading song for song. Nudie, who introduced the show, also interviewed the performers between songs.

The four bands that really knocked it out of the park that night were YouTube stars Paper Lions, a rock band from Belfast PEI, a progressive pop-rock band hailing from Charlottetown called Coyote, Pop-rock renegades and an Island favourite The Meds and last but not least the perennially popular Two Hours Traffic.

Today Exclaim Magazine will be featuring each of the following songs to give music lover’s a taste of the Island music scene as well as a glimpse of what to expect at this year’s House of Rock, 2014! “My Friend” by Paper Lions, “Lazy Jane” from Coyote, The Meds offering “Animals” and Two Hours Traffic with their unforgettable tune, “Audrey.”

The concert can also be heard in its entirety at music.cbc.ca
