The Music PEI Music Awards Show is an annual celebration of Island Music from East to West, with up to 22 Industry awards given to those who have made their mark on the Island in 2007–2008. Once again, Newcap Broadcasting has supported the Island Music Industry and are the title sponsors of the 2008 Ocean 100/K-Rock 105.5 Music PEI Awards Show.
Our Gala celebrates the diversity of music on PEI and features up to a dozen or more Island performers in genres including everything from Alternative, Country, Jazz, Blues, R&B, Rock n' Roll, Pop, and more. Last year's performers included among others, Tim Chaisson & Morning Fold, Jon Matthews, Saddle River String Band, Battery Point, Saxafras and Nathan Wiley. Truly a diverse range of musical styles and great performances. Performers for the Gala Show are selected by the Awards Show Committee from the list of nominees.
This year's Gala show will be held January 17th, 2009 at the Confederation Centre of the Arts in Charlottetown and will once again celebrate musical excellence and achievements during the past year featuring Island artists. Music Week PEI will also include a Songwriters Show, showcases and workshops. Further announcements will be made with schedule details.
