Sunday, March 28th, Music PEI held the annual Awards Party and handed out 31 awards at the PEI Convention Centre. As all things over the past 12 months, it was a much different affair than previous years. Social distancing was the rule of the day.

After previously rescheduling the event from earlier in March, the final day of the Credit Union Music PEI Week featured the awards and the Festival Finale.

Catherine MacLellan took home Crabbe Road Productions Solo Recording, Music Publishers Canada Song of the Year (with Tara MacLean) and Contemporary Roots Recording of the Year. Dylan Menzie received SOCAN Songwriter of the Year, FACTOR Entertainer of the Year and tied with Lawrence Maxwell for the Buzz Album Art of the Year.

Other highlights in non-recording awards included Scott Parsons receiving the Upstreet Lifetime Achievement Award, Frances McBurnie receiving the ABCE Community Contributor of the Year and Nancy White for the Deep Roots Distillery Rooted To The Island Award.

Music PEI is grateful to title sponsor PEI Credit Unions, funders FACTOR, ACOA, The City of Charlottetown and the Province of PEI and all the many sponsors. Congratulations to all the nominees and winners.
