Music PEI is proud to partner with ECMA to bring the Canadian Song Conference to East Coast Music Week. The CSC has a unique program called the Canadian Songwriter Challenge which brings together songwriters to collaborate. This year 12 songwriters from across Canada will partner to create new songs and present them to the delegates attending the Canadian Song Conference and ECMA.

The selected artists are:

Music NS – Dave Sampson
Music NB – Brittany McQuinn
Music NL – Chris Ryan
Music BC – Madison Olds
Alberta Music – Nuela Charles
Sask Music – Mike Harmel (Government Town)
Manitoba Music – Sierra Noble
Music Ontario – Tessa Gooden
MFM (N Ont) – Greyson Gritt (Quantum Tangle)
Music PEI – Logan Richard
Music PEI – Jenni & The Hummingbird
Music PEI – Rachel Beck

They will spend 2 days writing and recording in pairs and then have an opportunity to present the songs in a unique listening session designed to pitch the songs to delegates who will include music supervisors, publishers, labels, broadcasters and more.

This program is supported by Bell Media, the Province of PEI, ACOA and FACTOR through the Canadian public broadcasters and the government of Canada.

Other partners in this project include ECMA, Music NL, Music Nova Scotia, Music/Musique NB, Music Ontario, Music and Film in Motion, Manitoba Music, Sask Music, Alberta Music and Music BC.
