The new eligibility dates for this round of awards are May 1st, 2013 until December 31st, 2014. Any recordings released during that period and meet the outlined eligibility criteria will be eligible. Complete details for award submissions for all categories are here.
The dates for Music PEI Week 2015, traditionally held in late January is also moving. The new dates will be May 11th to the 17th and will coincide with the 2015 May long weekend. The new dates were selected to encourage off-Island visitors to join in our event and Music PEI intends to develop a top quality festival at a time when visitors traditionally start to come to PEI.
The newly branded event will have two components. The first is the Canadian Song Conference, which kicks off May 11th and runs until the 14th. The conference will include panels, workshops and many top industry professionals from across Canada and beyond discussing not only songwriting but many other facets of the business of music.
The second component is the May Run Music Festival, which kicks off May 14th and runs until the closing concert on May 17th. The event will build on Music PEI’s past years of success and grow significantly in scope, incorporating numerous concerts and showcases featuring Island artists alongside some exciting headliners from across Canada.
The Music PEI Awards will be given out during the May Run Music Festival at various shows, concerts and showcases throughout the weekend.
Many more announcements about these exciting new events will be made in the coming weeks and months detailing artist line-ups and events. You are invited to subscribe to the Music PEI News Flash, follow us on Twitter and Like us on Facebook.
