Metro Credit Union Music PEI Week is the annual celebration of the Island music industry which includes conference workshops, showcases, concerts and the Music PEI Awards Gala Show. The 2013 conference will take place January 28 – February 2, 2013.

Music PEI is currently looking to fill two positions.

Conference Coordinator
September 2012 – February 22, 2013

This position is the centre of organising for the conference portion of Metro Credit Union Music PEI Week and is responsible for the administrative and coordination aspect of the event which now includes numerous industry workshops.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Coordination of the consultation process with industry partners and stakeholders to determine which workshops to stage.

Seek out appropriate panelists and guest speakers to deliver the workshops and keynote speeches.

Coordinate travel arragments, confirm venues, technical requirments and contracts with host venues.

Managing budgets

Completing funding reports

Marketing and Communications Officer
September 2012 – February 22, 2013

This position is responsible for being the contact centre for all communications and marketing between Music PEI and both the event sponsors and the advertisers.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Will work closely with the Sponsorship Committee and Sponsor Sales Person to gather all sponsorship contracts, agreements and and fulltill commitments made with regard to advertising.

Coordination of all advertising in print, radio as well as social media.

Gather and track promotional material.

Writing press releases and ad scripts for TV and radio.

Coordination of interviews for TV and radio

Develop marketing plan, theme, ads and update website.

Completing funding reports.

These positions are funded through Skills PEI and the Work Experience PEI program. As such, all applicants must be EI eligible and currently unemployed. Skills PEI criteria is:

be unemployed and legally authorized to work in Canada (Canadian citizen or permanent resident); and have a current claim for Employment Insurance benefits;

or have a previous EI claim whose benefit period ended in the preceding 36 months;
or have a previous benefit period that began in the preceding 60 months, during which the individual was paid maternity or parental benefits, after which they left the labour market to care for a newborn or newly adopted child and are now seeking to re-renter the labour market.
