The Meds first surfaced in Charlottetown in 2006 when some interesting demos began circulating. Combined with their strong live shows the band has been growing in popularity ever since. In 2008, with the help of a grant from Music PEI, The Meds recorded a demo EP in the hallowed hall of Sonic Temple studio in Halifax. This demo was passed along to multiple JUNO award nominee and ECMA winner Matt Mays, who came to The Meds with the idea of making an album together.
Over the course of ten days in December 2009, with Matt in the producer's chair, The Meds recorded 11 tracks in a beachside house in rural Nova Scotia. In February 2010 the boys headed to San Francisco, California to spend 10 days recording vocals. In the coming weeks The Meds plan to finish the album in New York City. With support from a PEI Council of the Arts grant, The Meds plan to release a full-length album this fall and are gearing up for a busy schedule ahead. Plans to tour are in the works. Stay Posted.
