CSC Day 3

Songwriter Challenge presentations, workshops, and panels! In addition to what you see here, there will be a songwriter workshop led by the producers who participated in the Songwriter Challenge with 18 artists from PEI taking place all afternoon. We're excited to have been able to add this event to the schedule this year!

We're also thrilled to have Meaghan Elizabeth Marketing delivering her workshop on Songwriters, Storytelling, and Social Media.

Meaghan Blanchard is a Prince Edward Island Social Media & Storytelling Coach who spent two decades as an internationally-touring and award-winning songwriter before pivoting into the exciting world of social media marketing. With a BA in writing, Digital Marketing Management certificate from the University of Calgary and a certificate of completion from the Sugarpunch Social’s SMMSI out of Chicago USA, she now helps small business owners to remove the creative blocks to making content so that they can authentically connect to their dream clients through the many storytelling features of Instagram.

Then, as fast as it came, the week is all over! We'll celebrate with a closing reception for conference participants before we send everyone off the next day.

We'll be kicking off the Canadian Song Conference with listening sessions and panels with opportunities to learn about how music gets placed in films/tv, ads, video games, and trailers, as well as tips on how to engage fans, grow your listener base and get your music on the radio.

Make sure to come hang out with us at Open Mic with KINLEY at Baba's Lounge to close out the first day of the conference.

CSC Listening Session 1 featuring Music PEI artists is happening on Wednesday, May 31st in the morning. These artists will pitch samples from their recording catalogues to industry delegates like music supervisors, publishers, sync agents, labels are more.

CSC listening sessions have led to successful business deals for PEI artists like label and publishing deals, and having their music placed in popular TV shows, ads, film trailers, and more.

🏆 PEI Artists Take Home 6 ECMA Awards! 🏆

Music PEI is proud to announce that Prince Edward Island musicians took home six awards at the 2023 East Coast Music Awards (ECMAs) including The East Pointers who lead the way with three awards. The annual celebration was held in Halifax, NS from May 3rd-7th 2023 and recognized the best and brightest in East Coast music.

The PEI winners include Sirens - In Her Image for Choral Recording of the Year, The East Pointers - House Of Dreams for Contemporary Roots Recording of the Year, Group Recording of the Year, and Pop Recording of the Year, and Dylan Menzie - A Piece of Me for Rising Star Recording of the Year. Richard WOOD was also honoured with the Stompin’ Tom Award (PEI).

Next year, the ECMAs will be coming to Charlottetown, PEI.

Registration is now open for the 2023 edition of Music PEI's annual spring event, the Canadian Song Conference.

The CSC explores creating multiple revenue streams and songwriting. In today’s music industry, it is challenging to develop a sustainable career and creating as many revenue streams as possible is critical to achieving that. Those revenue streams include licensing, royalties, publishing, streaming, syncs, label deals, and merch sales. The CSC attempts to take some of the mystery out of these opportunities.
