About
Alan Dowling is a drummer and educator based in Charlottetown, PEI. Alan keeps busy drumming with the Got Blues Band, KINLEY, Cory Gallant, Nolan Compton, the PEI Pops Orchestra and others. He has also performed with Doug Riley, The Charlottetown Festival, Dennis Ellsworth, The Jive Kings and many others. He's recorded over 120 studio tracks covering all styles including jazz, trad, folk, rock, country and Celtic music.
He performed as the onstage drummer with the Charlottetown Festival for five years and earned four ECMA awards and many Music PEI awards for recordings. He has performed at jazz festivals in Quebec, Nova Scotia and PEI and has made guest appearances with Symphony Nova Scotia and the PEI Symphony Orchestra. Alan teaches drumset at the Holland College School of Performing Arts.
Alan is an artist and clinician for Sabian cymbals, Vic Firth drumsticks and Anthology Gear Wear instrument cases.
