Junkmale began about 6 years ago, when Mike & Karen wanted to start a band focusing on rock driven songs by female artists. Longtime musicians Ron (Mike's brother) & Dennis (a longtime friend), were recruited; and Junkmale was formed. Over time, the band has progressed to what it is today; performing anything from female rock & pop such as Pat Benater & Pink, to classic rock like the The Doobie Brothers & Led Zeppelin, to heavier edged rock like ACDC & Nirvana - Junkmale style!
The boys of Junkmale have been club musicians since the 80's, performing in bands such as: Shortcut, Kickstart, Unleash the Dogz, & Cameltoe. This is Karen's first singing gig in a band and she is hooked.
This band likes to keep the party going and is always up for learning new songs. Junkmale is currently writing original music which is rock and blues influcenced and has plans to record some original music very soon!! Stay tuned!
